Ordination generally involves leaders or an institution who grant authority to a church leader. This can include the ordination of a pastor, deacon, or other church leaders who are given authority to lead others in various church duties. In the Old Testament, many leaders were ordained.
In the New Testament, ordination began being used to appoint leaders in local churches or ministries. In Acts 13:1–5, Paul and Barnabas were set apart for a special ministry. The term ordination was not used, but the same idea was involved.
Today, many churches ordain elders or deacons through a special service that includes prayer and leaders laying hands on the person to symbolize a transferal of trust or authorization of power. Though not required in Scripture, this tradition is certainly appropriate and publicly marks an important time in the life of a church and its leaders. Church leaders recognized by other church leaders then live with a deep sense of calling and responsibility to lovingly shepherd those in their church family with love and humility.

4th Anniversary Celebrations
Convocation Sunday - 28th March 2021
The True worship centre-Jinja was planted in Jinja in the year 2017. On 28th March 2021, it celebrated 4 years of existence. The celebration attracted many political and religious figures from various regions of the country. This celebration which took place on a Sunday ( convocation Sunday) was part of a series of events that collectively made up the anniversary celebrations. We had Church members do door-to-door evangelism, donate blood, clean the city of jinja and donate scholastic materials to school-going children. All these events happened in one week (convocation week). Scroll down for details about each event.
Games - 26th March 2021
As part of our 4th-anniversary celebrations, The True worship centre-Jinja organized light games for church members and the surrounding community. Games like Chess, checkers, Ludo (local name), and Matatu(cards) had members of the community occupied. This was a great opportunity for church members to share Christ and network with members of the community who decided to join us just for the games on that day.
This happened on the 26th March 2021.
