Statement Of Faith

What We Believe

We are a Bible Church in Jinja City, Uganda, welcoming people of all ages and backgrounds. We worship the Almighty God. Our worship is a natural expression of our gratitude for what He has done in our lives. Everything we do is an act of worship, and therefore all of life is to be lived for Him.

Our Mission

“Knowing Christ, growing together and make Him known”

Our Vision

To connect People to God and to each other”.

To be used by God to create redeeming communities of Christ-followers now and for future generations in our Country.

Our Ideology

“We are a bible church, Christ centered and spirit led church”.

Bible church– everything we do has to be accepted by the bible

Christ centered– everything we do has to point to Christ. Role model

Spirit led –john 4:23 the spirit is our leader as Jesus left us with his spirit.

Our Culture

Our Culture is according to Acts 2:42. We cherish family or relationships. Our worship is characterized by teaching, preaching, prayer, fellowship or Lord’s Supper, and being missional.

Our Philosophy

Scriptural-Bible based

Intentional– Love on people with an intention of spreading the gospel or showing love.

Practical– Practice what we say.

God's Word

We believe the Bible is the written word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible is the revelation of God’s loving truth and is infallible and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice. Because of our finitude and fallenness, it is impossible for us to understand God’s truth exhaustively. We rely on the Holy Spirit to guide us into the truth. Jesus is God in the flesh; therefore, he is the clearest example of who God is.

We teach and apply the Bible. We explain what the Bible means by what it says. We don’t add to it, and we don’t take away from it. The Bible is God’s love story of redeeming mankind to Himself through His Son Jesus Christ. The Bible provides the foundation for orthodoxy and practice. We are open-handed with issues the Bible is not explicitly clear on. So then, there is freedom within the church to hold views that are within the scope of biblical Christianity in a spirit that is not divisive.

The Triune God

We believe in the Holy Trinity. There is one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit indwells God’s people and gives them the strength and wisdom to trust Christ, follow Him, and empower them for service. He is the primary agent for the conviction of sin and regeneration. Simultaneously with Salvation, The Holy Spirit imparts new life, baptizes the believer into the body of Christ (His Church), permanently indwells the believer, and securely seals the believer unto the day of redemption. The Holy Spirit fills (directs and controls) those believers who are yielded to Him, enables believers to bear fruit, and empowers believers to live a life free from sin’s dominion. We also believe that the Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to believers to edify the church following the teachings of Scripture.

Man's Problem

We believe that God created all things and that he created humanity in his image. However, through Adam’s rebellion in the garden, humanity incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God? Consequently, all human beings are born separated from God with a sinful nature. This means that we have earned God’s righteous judgment towards our sin and rebellion. Man is incapable of saving himself and coming back into the right relationship with God by his merit or effort.

God’s Solution To Man’s Problem

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins on the cross according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice and that he rose on the third day. All who repent and believe in Him are redeemed and justified on the ground of His shed blood. We believe that salvation is from God alone through Christ alone, and our salvation is based on His grace, not on any human individual merit. All who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God, a relationship in which they are eternally secure.

Our Place In The World

We believe that all aspects of our lives are to be lived to the glory of God under the Lordship of Jesus Christ; therefore, we are called to act justly, to do mercy, and to walk humbly with our God.

Jesus’ Return

We believe that Jesus will return, bodily and visibly, to judge all humanity and to receive His people to Himself. Wrongs will be made right and the final destination of every individual will be revealed. The unrighteous will be consigned to Hell, the place of everlasting punishment. The children of God will dwell forever in the new heavens and new earth with their Lord.

Satan

We believe that Satan is the instigator of evil and a real spirit being, not simply the personification of evil. He is a fallen angel who, under the sovereign permission of God has been given temporary rulership of the earth. He was utterly defeated at the cross but the execution of his judgment has been postponed by God until after the millennial kingdom when he will be cast into the eternal lake of fire. In the meantime, he deceives the world and seeks to establish his counterfeit kingdom on earth to discredit and blaspheme God and to tempt, accuse, attack, and destroy believers. He can be resisted by the believer through faith and reliance on the power of the Holy Spirit.

Core Values

Generous living – we desire to be a church where people are overwhelmed by Christian generosity with all God has given us. We are generous with each other and toward those whom Jesus calls “the least of these.”

Redeemed lives – we are a church that freely and boldly shares the gospel of Jesus through proper biblical teaching that explains what the Bible means by what it says. Personal stories of transformation reinforce this life-changing message.

Adoration of God – imagine a people whose worship is genuine, simple, and expressed with their entire lives. It is directed upward through prayer and praise and outward through self-sacrifice.

Community – imagine a gathering where people are fulfilled in a close relationship. We are called to pray for one another, bear one another’s burdens, confess our sins to one another, and love one another. This is the example of the first church in Acts chapter 2.

Engaged in culture – through truth and discipleship – We hold to a private and public devotion to God. We are devoted to bringing the life-giving message to our community in Jinja and Uganda at large.

The Church

We believe that the Church is the body of Christ of which Jesus is the head and whose members are those who have truly received Christ by faith. The local church is a tangible expression of the body of Christ in a particular location. Since all members of the body are united in Christ by the same spirit, they should live in love, harmony, and unity, being intent on the same purpose and accepting our practices that are based on a sincere interpretation of the Bible. The purpose of our Church is to make Christ known to lost men, to make disciples, and glorify God on earth.

The Ordinances

We believe that the only two ordinances of the church recognized by scripture are water baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Water baptism by immersion is an act of obedience following salvation which symbolically pictures the believer’s death to sin, the burial of the old life, and resurrection to new life. The Lord’s Supper celebrates fellowship and communion with Christ, symbolically commemorates His death, and anticipates his second coming.

Future Things

We believe that the next prophetic event will be the rapture of the church when the Lord Jesus Christ will return in the air to receive unto Himself all church age believers. The rapture of the church will be followed by the seven-year Great Tribulation period in fulfillment of Dan. 9:24-27 during which Israel will be purified, the whole world tested, and the wrath of God poured out against sin. We believe that at the end of the great tribulation, the Lord Jesus in his second coming will personally and physically return to the earth just as he ascended with great power and glory to execute judgment and usher in the millennial kingdom, during which He will reign on earth for 1000 years with righteousness, justice, and peace to fulfill God’s Covenant promise to Israel. We believe that the 1000 year reign of Christ on earth will be followed by the final judgment of Satan when he is cast into the lake of fire forever. The great white throne judgment and bodily resurrection for unbelievers, the creation of a new heaven and new earth, and the eternal state.
